Do they all BBQ your goolies

I've been having great fun cracking some serious miles on the bike and it just gets better and better but I'm curious about heat build up. I've no doubt about the bikes ability in traffic, it gets hot, the fans cut in and hold or cool it slightly and as soon as I get rolling again the temperature screams back down. Fantastic. BUT it damn near cooks me bits! Do they all do this or should there be heatshield fitted some where?

Do you have the original silencers on? I changed mine and it still gets hot in traffice (temp guage) but I don't get the blasting heat from the cans anymore. The originals have catalytic converters in them and they get HOT.

Either that or back to the tinfoil...
