Anyone experience with plug repairs to tyres ( punctures)..and what make / kind, performs well..??

Know you should REALLY replace tyre..but is a newish tyre..and read Michelin happy for their Z rated tyres, and others to be plugged.

Take it to a specialist to do the job properly.... the kind of plugs sold in bike shops are the "get you home" kind.

Agree with Eddy,let me explain it thus: if you get shot in the chest me shoving a tampax into the entry wound will stop some blood from leaking out, but you wouldn't not visit the hospital.

A proper repair won't cost much and will give you peace of mind. Unlike me running at you with a tampax.

Hi andy,just my 2penneth.... I've read before that if the plug has been done proffesionally ie- at a good tyre shop,then it's fine to use it. Incidentally, i had a bolt in the tyre of my car last year and took it to ATS. fixed the tyre with a plug and it's never lost any air since. Don't see why a bike tyre should be any different. Although there will allways be some people that will scrap a newish tyre after a puncture.:)
