heat gauge

hey everybody,

I'm quite new on this bike (x11, 2000, 20.000 miles) but I was chaising it for a long time.

Now since i have burnt the first petrol tank on it i need to ask few questions:

-in bad traffic the heat gauge is raising at the "H" and stays there.

Is it normal?

-sometimes the first and third gear is very noisy...could it be a problem?

Hello and welcome!

The X11 does heat up when in slow moving traffic, some even boil over slightly, as long as you get moving as soon as possible you'll be fine.

Recent cures include mounting the pavement, never stopping and doing both with a wheelie.

The whine is normal in 1st, not sure about 3rd though.

Others will no doubt advise.
