Fitting BOS end cans?

4 posts in this topic

I bought some BOS end cans for the X and am hopefully fitting them this weekend. Not being the most regular of spannermen, is there anything I should watch out for. It looks pretty simple. Undo the main bolt on can, fixing bolt near clamp and two clamp bolts. The BOS cans have got gaskets in the end of the pipes, and the fixings look to be pretty much the same, no rubber strap around the can which I think looks better. Hopefully won't take too long?

Unless you know better! Will post pics when fitted.

Check you have a centre stand stop on your nearside can, if you dont your centre stand will grind away the outer surface of your chain.

Cheers for the tip dude. I think it mentions to use the existing one, which is almost new.

Another tip is don't put the cans too near the swingarm. Previous owner did this on mine and at sometime the cans rubbed on the swingarm causing nasty scratches!!

Make sure there's enough of a gap!;)
