Speedo Cable

Hi,  I've just purchased an X11 on which some previous owner has installed a cheap, aftermarket digital speedo unit.  The unit is very consistent in that it either reads 0 mph or 199 mph, neither of which is possible while riding. In other words, it's goosed!  I have ordered a replacement, but I'd like to eliminate the cable as a source of the problem.  The problem is that I can't find it!  What kind of speedo does the X11 have and where does the cable run?
