Head race bearings

Hi All

Would anybody perhaps know if the head race bearings from the Blackbird fits the X 11 ??

I'd have thought so... especially for the injection model from about yr 2000 to 2004.

May be an opportune moment to fit a taper roller kit instead?

I haven't myself no... I've had no need to.

Andyx11 has, with a taper kit for the blackbird tho.

I pulled of the top bridge ( which I cracked ) and at the same time decided to check the bearings..........they be fooked........when I delved into the X11 archives last night I realized why........to late she cried !!

Oh dear... well I did warn folk abot the lack of factory applied grease!

Good time to go with taper ones then, they are more robust and Andy reports smoother feel.

Job done..........it's a b@tch........but done !!

The two bearings needed are a 32006 and a 32005/26. The 32005 is normally a 25 ID but the /26 makes it obviously 26 ID which is the correct one.

No other mods are needed, the worst part is getting off the inner lower race of the steering stem without damaging the dust seal, but with plenty lubricating spray and a U shaped punch the inner race comes off without too much fuss and dust seal intact.
