Posted April 11, 2014 Hi, I am trying to get at the air filter, I read the trick of removing the two bolts - wiggling back then propping the front - I wiggle it back then it seems to hit a stop and wont lift, dont want to force anything?Any ideas or something Im missing maybe?thank you 0 Share this post Link to post
Posted April 11, 2014 Try and spy underneath to make sure no pipe is getting caught or anything. 0 Share this post Link to post
Posted April 12, 2014 Thanks, I have run it lower on fuel so I'll have another go this morning or I'll buy clamps and do it properly! 0 Share this post Link to post
Posted April 12, 2014 Done it - major wiggling needed! Someone fitted a K&N - personally not a fan and its a bad fit, ordered a standard one and of course they sent the wrong one. 0 Share this post Link to post
Posted April 13, 2014 Might be an idea to change the plugs at the same time. 0 Share this post Link to post
Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) All done thanks..found the right side airbox breather was off too! One thing I noticed, white liquid on the right exhaust coming from the smaller of the two overflow pipes at the bottom right of the engine...not much but some each ride, my first fear is oil/water mix but oil and coolant look ok!. On some bikes the pipes are plugged, these are open...just looked - it is coolant from the small pipe, not sure if it goes to the rad or expansion tank without further investigation. Thanks.
