Left hand controls

Hi all,

 

Reading the manual, it sounds like the clutch lever and left hand controls locate on the handlebar by way of a notch or hole or something. I noticed there is a large gap between the top of handlebar where it has a little step just before the bar starts. So the clutch lever clamp is about half an inch from the butt of the handlebar.

 

The rubber grip on that side is also hangs off the handlebar a little, like everything wants loosening and sliding up the bar.

But on taking the controls apart, there is a rubber spacer ring in there, that definately feel like it locates on something, but in its present position it means my left hand is always further out on the handlebar, which feels weird.

 

Can I move the controls about or so they have to go where Mr Honda put them??
