Varying Rear Brake Pedal Feal

6 posts in this topic

My local mech commented it was down to the "weird system" ...

Just checking that its normal really. Goes down, at end of drive and I feel as if I should pump it, comes up when I do pump.. but always stops.

Feels odd...

If this is normal can someone explain the system to me?

If not.. what do I do about it?

Sounds like there is air in the system between the secondary master cylinder and caliper. There is a set way to bleed and replace the fluid in the CBS system, the Honda workshop manual has it explained, maybe the previous owner had it done by someone who thought they knew better

'fanks Chris,

I'll go through the manual procedure.

Can't beleive there can be anything actually "broken" as its so consistent.

Spanner out :-)

Blimey...

Sure enough. Honda Main dealer replaced all pads very recently. Must have made a mess of replacing the fluid which is clearly brand new.

When bleeding the rear brake , the secondary master on the l/h fork leg needs pumping as well , they may not have done this ?
