My advice is to remove it completely - alarms are a breakdown waiting to happen - and always at the most inconvenient momement.

Yep,thats what i would do aswell matt. Find a good auto-electrician if you can't do it yourself and tell him to ripp it out.:)

I've taken a few alarms off..They all cunningly loop through the ignition so simply cutting all the wires and removing the alarm components will render the bike as useful as a rubber crutch!! Make sure all colour coded wires on the honda loom are solder repaired and taped and reconnected leaving the loom as it was when new. Dont use poxy wire connectors or the repair will fail at some stage...It's not difficult just be careful. You may need a soldering iron to de-solder the alarm wires from the loom if the alarm was installed with soldered connections as it should have been..make sure all bare wires are taped tightly to control degredation of the wire core....Hope this helps.....Cheers....Steve..

My mate just had a Meta alarm removed because it was always going off, even when adjusted correctly. Meta alarm specialist removed the whole lot for ?70. Strange thing was, guy never even asked to see proof of ownership. Seems a bit daft that you could nick a bike by chucking it in a van, then having the alarm/immobiliser removed by a pro', no questions asked!

Just last week at work, i took out a Spyball alarm out of one Yamaha.

I cheked out the ownership of the bike;D

When i had it in my hands, there were water dripping out of the main unit and from the wire harnes (there was plastic shield around the wires and heat shrinks on the ends of it).

No wonder that it was "haunted" and made alarms when ever it wanted.
