Mix tyres

3 posts in this topic

Any thoughts / experience as to mixing tyres..i.e Front Michelin...Rear Avon...both same sport touring type

Reason..soon be in need of new tyres AGAIN (doing 500 miles a week just now ) and have spare new front Michelin..that I would like to use....Michelin rear with me...lasting only 4k or so, if that.

...and what with me having recently been made redundant..not flush with spare cash..though will not skip on safety

Thoughts / experience appreciated ;D

I don't see why not, if you don't do any knee down shinanigans?

It's always preferable to have a matched pair... but we don't always live in an ideal world.

Oh hang on.... I've an almost new Avon tyre here, AV45 or summat, sport touring anyway, you can have it for a wee site donation!

I can fit it for you but it'll have to be a best guess on the balancing.
