Fixing the clutch noise

4 posts in this topic

Hi, I just bought 1999 X11 (56k rolled) and there is a quite heavy noise coming from clutch when the motor is cold and idling. I have read that it's common character almost all these bikes such driving amount. What have you done to your bike to fix the problem and if it's to change the clutch components, can it be done by yourself (is there need for special tools) ?

Thanking in advance

How to avoid clutch rattle...

    • Pull in clutch lever and keep it in!
    • Press starter
    • Pull out "fast idle" knob until 1500 rpm is showing
    • Slowly release clutch lever
    • Allow engine to warm
    • Close fast idle
    • Ride away

    hth and.... :welcome:

mttp,

it is NOT a 'problem' that needs 'fixing', it's normal.

I know of no one's standard bike that does not make the noise.

Hope you do allow your bike to warm up - like eddy says - with the revs at 15/1600rpm?
