Rubbing sound

5 posts in this topic

When the bike is leaned over into corners, left or right, there's a faint rubbing sound from the front wheel. Had a good look around and can't see anything obvious. However, the brake discs seem to be very close to the inside of the fork legs. Wondering if, with the weight of the bike when leaned over, any play in the front bearings will allow the wheel to move and catch the fork legs? Can't see any "shiny" bits, may do with the wheel removed. Anyone had anything similar? Can't detect any play in the front wheel bearings, weird or what.

Have you checked the bearing and dust seals on the front wheel?

I would check those and the condition of the brake pads and discs.

Probably from the floating disks. Give them a squirt of brake cleaner, on the rivets, to get the dust out.

I must admit sometimes in the winter or bad weather I get a rubbing sound, but thats just usually crap on the pads, they do stick close to the discs.
