Now that is strange...

Almost without fail the fuel light on my X comes on 

between 140-145 miles.Not brilliant,but then I am no

lightweight and I do enjoy a bit of throttle murder..after all

whats the point in owning an 1100cc musclebike and then

riding like Miss Daisy??

Anyway,since replacing the failed spark plug as previously

mentioned the past two tanks have gone 170 plus miles

before the fuel light kicks in....

Sevral possibilities

The old spark plug has been failing for some considerable time..effecting consumption

The bike likes the premium fuel that I have recently used

The injector cleaner that i have added to the last two tanks has actually done some good

As the bike approaches 9000 miles it is loosening up more and more

Less commuting use,but longer leisure rides is the reason

I Have lost weight and have started riding like a pussy!! 

 There are way too many variables to find a reason for this,but I intend

to keep an eye on it...I will keep you posted.

 

What miles do other owners get before the fuel light :huh:??

I get the light at about 150, then, I can only get 17Ltrs into the tank. That means that the light comes on with 5Ltrs left.

Id say about 140-160 when my light came on too with a combination of fast accelerating and casual riding

Wow, how do I get that, my light comes on at 110-120 miles, but then I do 7 miles each way to work which I don't hang around doing either.

I'm wondering if injector cleaner may have cleaned sensor so the light comes on later you would have to work out kpl or mpg to be sure ?

The crucial thing is how much can you get in the tank when the light comes on, as the tank holds 22Ltrs.

On std cans a motoway speeds or just above 80-85 cruising used to get 180 regularly.

 

With ackro headers & Motad Venom cans same speed now get 160.

Interesting....could be any number of things then.I cant really

make a judgment on this short term..I can only keep monitoring

the situation long term.
