Steering damper

Hi guys,

 

2 weeks ago I got myself a 1999 X11. A friend of mine took it for a spin and advised me to install a steering damper. He himself owns a Yamaha R1.

 

What do you think, is this a usefull addition for this monster?

Never found the need for a steering damper, maybe the X11 scared your friend.

Don't have one & have never needed one on the X .

Once, some years ago, i was thinking about that. Then i got over it. But why not i you like to have one fitted.

Check your tyre pressure's if it feels flighty , but was your mate too used to sitting behind a fairing ?

Thanks for the replies. Basically my friend is used to an R1 with similar power and frequently has his front wheel airborne when going full throttle.

I'll see how it goes in the near future.
