X11 vs. BB speedo sensor

Hi,

 

-Does anyone happen to know <exactly> which gear the sensor runs off on each bike (BB or X11)?

 

I ask because I <assumed> that is was the same in an X11 and BB, but it seems it isn't, at least judging by the fact that the X11's speedo read 170mph last weekend. In 5th. (it's got BB engine) Ok, so it's probably a bit quicker than standard, but thats damn totally impossible...!!!!

I thought it was off the output shaft, not a particular gear?

Weelll....  it's a sensor that 'counts' gear teeth (a reluctor), it for sure counts some gear on the mainshaft & I (stupidly, this being Honda, look at all the other puzzling differences between X11 and BB!) assumed that it counted the same gear in both cases, e.g. top in X11 and 5th in the BB, which are internally exactly the same ratio (only the rear sprocket ratio is different)...  but it seems like I was wrong, it must count a LOWER gear in BB than in X11, because the speedo overreads rather a lot!

 

...I sense a speedohealer coming..
