Mud guard question

2 posts in this topic

Morning All,

I was on my way to see my parents who live in Dorset and had just left the M27 to join the A31 through the New Forest when something hit the front of my bike. All I saw was an object, then felt it thump the front and that was it. I pulled over and found the front lip of my mud guard cracked and a 2-3 in chunk missing. I walked back toward the Little Chef and found a little piece. I guess a stone must have flicked up by a car.

I could buy a genuine Honda part (about £140 incl carriage and VAT), opt for a Powerbronze replacement or hang out for a spare to appear on that auction site. I have dismissed getting a Blackbird version as I don't think it'll fit and it's a different shape anyway.

Then I thought I could buy a sheet of modellers plastic and effect a repair; has anyone done a similar thing? Tips, pointers?

Cheers

Brady

Hmmm, plastic glue with glassfibre underneath, bit of filler on top and spray it.
