18 posts in this topic

I did search in the forum, but whit no result about the next question - Is there "restricted" engine version of X11 whit limited hp lets say up to 99 bhp, depending of the market (Europian,Asian etc.) when it was sold ?

Aye, there is, the European mainland market one was restricted to 100bhp.

There are restrictions in the inlet horns to the airbox... with one blanked off (if I remember) and I guess the ECU will have been tampered with.

Aye they are all made in Japan! It's the market "variant - version" that will possibly be different.

I thought I had some information on this... but it's just really confusing and inconclusive!

Your best bet is to look inside the airbox... if one of the inlets is blanked it's restricted. If it isn't.... forget about it!

Thanks, Eddy just thought about restricted vesrsions

Actually i think i own no restriction model, but i`ll check inside the airbox.

Never notice some lack of power, acceleration or speed, contrariwise she has enormous kick a s s start and easy rich the top speed (245km/h :o )

Cheers!

Hi all, i've got a restricted version of x11, speedometer max at 180km/h.. Had ever reached tat speed but tachometer only at about 7000rpm, without hitting red zone.. Can anyone enlighten me how to de-restricted this beast?

So far i've removed the blocked air intake blank, and changed to stock blackbird endcans, what else can i do?

Sounds like you will have to change the ECU unit for a uk model one. If that does'nt work then i would take it to a dyno specialist to have it set up.

Good luck.;)

No surprise that the Swiss ones are restricted....I think they hate everything with an engine over there.

They do have a very strict policy on noise pollution, so bikes & cars with loud pipes are seriously frowned upon:doh:

yeah Mark but it is a bit of a paradox because there are some real speed freaks, I met some on a training course over there, they all pile over the border into Germany for a quick fix. The guy that i was with used to leave his Scooby parked outside the hotel with the engine running (bad lad) doors unlocked. I asked him if it might get nicked, he laughed at the thought, not a chance in Switzerland.

Restricted X11, bit like Kaliber beer, low alchol wine, low tar cigs, what is the point?
