Posted April 20, 2020 Hi All relatively new to the X11 owners club but had mine for stripped in the garage for just over a year now. With all this Covid 19 thing its given me the chance to get it rebuilt. Its all just about ready to go now as soon as I ca get it mot'd. My question is how can I go about getting a new radiator for it. The old one is in poor condition and I've asked a local radiator specialist but he won't entertain a re-core of it. can anyone suggest a supplier of a replacement please or is a blackbird alloy rad can be altered to fit and take the side pod mounts. I'm happy to have a go at doing a little alloy welding if need be. Thanks 0 Share this post Link to post
Posted April 23, 2020 (edited) I think you will find the Rad is obsolete now , can you not clean yours up and repaint it or is it leaking ? http://www.westmerciaradiators.co.uk/motorbike_radiator_repairs.html http://radiator-repair.co.uk/custom-aluminium/motorcycle-radiators Edited April 23, 2020 by x11r 0 Share this post Link to post

Posted May 1, 2020 Hi Both and thanks for the reply. I'm not 100% sure as to what it will be like (leaking or not) once I can get the bike on the road after this lockdown is over. The radiator itself does not look great and I have had to carry out a repair to the lower fan mount and cleaned it as best I can. Its all back on the bike waiting to see what happens when i can test it properly. Thanks for the details of the to radiator specialists John I will try the one I Leeds 1st it I need them. Thanks again Jonathan 0 Share this post Link to post
Posted May 1, 2020 Hi Jonathan , It's Quite a coincidence but I have all my coolant system off at the moment , I have brought samco hoses and evans waterless coolant to put In , And i've just sprayed my radiator with Hammerite Satin Black paint , It had been cleaned up and painted before (by me) as Ive had the bike from new , they do tend to corrode on the ends and bottom as the original paint is very thin. 0 Share this post Link to post
