Plugs and Air filter changed and then DISASTER !!!!

4 posts in this topic

Changed the spark plugs and air filter this morning even though

the wife intimated that the fence panels needed painted instead of titting about

on the bike!!!..

All went smooth and by the numbers. The old air filter was extremely

mucky and the plugs didnt look too clever either.Judging by

the filth covering most things beneath the fuel tank it looks

like this could be the first time that the tank has been lifted on

this bike.

Anyway ,put everything back together  turned on the ignition

the fuel pump primed and she busrt into life on all four...Happy days.

After everything had been put away into the shed including the bike..I was feeling pretty

pleased with myself..I then picked up a 4 litre tub of fence paint off the shelf ,lost control

juggled it in mid air then watched it crash to the floor..This could only happen to me...

The plastic bucket burst open and the entire contents erupted everwhere.

A huge lake of green paint was in the middle of the floor and both bikes where

splattered to buggery with paint...Wheels,forks,brakes,downpipes.lower motor areas.

I suffered from brain shutdown for a while and then burst into action ..got both bikes

out of the shed, power washer into action..fortunately the paint appears to be water based.

Much cleaned and carpet removal later we were back to square one.

I have a trip to the local tip next with all of the old carpet....Oh and I owe the wife

a tub of fence paint!!!!

There's a moral in this tale somewhere....

The moral is 'A tin on a shelf should be left there' or as I said to the wife if you want DIY do it yourself. But sleep with one eye open after.
