Fork Oil Change

3 posts in this topic

I have resprayed the fork bottoms on the new project a nice

aluminium silver colour...Looks great. And I am thinking to myself

while all of the brakes and pipes and other gubbins are removed

and bungied out of harms way..why not do the fork oil.

The bike is 16 years old and has done 22,000 miles so it must be

due ,or even overdue.

Anyway,I have printed off the necessary pages from the manual..(thanks Eddy).

I have all of the information on oil capacities, air gaps, and torque for the bolts.

I was just wondering if I will be able to tell the difference with some nice

fresh oil in the fork legs...or am I wasting my time??

Has anyone else done this job? and was it worth the effort???

Just do it :)

Scroll down this and you find something about the job. http://www.hondax11.com/ips/index.php?/topic/16120-tyres/

When you have the front up, check out that steering bearing, if you feel even little bit stiffness on the middle position you might want to change those bearings.
